NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given to all residents of Athens, Tennessee, and to all persons interested, that the Athens City Council will hold public hearings on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Athens City Hall, 815 N. Jackson Street, Athens, TN 37303 to consider final passage of the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE 1160

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ‘THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATHENS, TENNESSEE, SO AS TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO REZONE THE PROPERTY LOCATED OFF SPRUCE STREET FROM I-1 (LIGHT INDUSTIAL DISTRICT) TO R-2 (MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) SAID AREA BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ATHENS, TENNESSEE.

Rezoning request by Jose Medina-Mendoza and Yessica Medina Contreas for a 0.31-acre parcel identified as Map 057I Group D Parcel 025.00 located at 219 Spruce Street from I-1 Light Industrial District to R-2 Medium Density Residential District
