DENNIS STREET UPDATE: During last night’s special-called meeting, the Athens City Council approved additional funding from the Capital Improvement Fund for the extra work needed on the Dennis Street paving project.

Issues with the soil beneath the road were discovered during paving and must be addressed as soon as possible.

Council members approved $115,850, with a 15% contingency if costs exceed the estimate, to complete the paving on Dennis Street.

Construction dates will be announced, and the City of Athens will provide updates as they become available.
