In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), the City of Athens will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, activities, or employment.

The City of Athens will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services to ensure effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally and have an opportunity to enjoy all of the City’s programs, services, and activities. The City will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs as needed to meet the requirement of the Act.

Please note that depending on the nature and circumstances of the requested aid, service, or modification, additional advance notice may be required. The ADA does not require the City of Athens to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.
