The City of Athens will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in
Athens City Hall, 815 N. Jackson Street, Athens, Tennessee 37303.

The purpose of this hearing is for the second reading of Ordinance 1145:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 14, CHAPTER V, SECTION 14-128 AND
SECTION 14-130 OF THE ATHENS CITY CODE REGARDING DEFINITIONS AND
REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUFACTURED TREATMENT DEVICES (MTDs),
CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS, AND TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS (TSS) REMOVAL
STANDARDS TO MAINTAIN COMPLIANCE WITH TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENT AND CONSERVATION (TDEC) REGULATIONS.

Any individual wishing to speak on this issue should be present at the hearing or submit comments
to the Office of the City Manager, 815 North Jackson Street, Athens, Tennessee 37303 or via email
at admin@athenstn.gov on or before the public hearing date.

A copy of the ordinance is available for inspection at the Athens City Hall during normal business
hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) or can be viewed online at: www.athenstn.gov.
