The Athens City Council, during their November 18, 2025 regular session, approved to replace the existing tennis and pickleball court lighting fixtures with LED fixtures and add new LED pedestrian lighting at Ingleside Park and replace the basketball court lighting fixtures with LED fixtures at Heritage Park. The cost of these park improvements is $221,049.04 and funds will come from the city’s Capital Improvement Fund. Completion of both projects is expected during early 2026.
