NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Athens will conduct two Public Hearings on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 6:00
p.m. in Athens City Hall, 815 N. Jackson Street, Athens, Tennessee 37303.
Second Reading of Ordinance 1147:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 3 “MUNICIPAL COURT”, CHAPTER I,
SECTION 3, OF THE ATHENS CITY CODE, BY REMOVING THE REQUIREMENT
THAT THE CITY JUDGE BE A RESIDENT OF THE COUNTY.
Any individual wishing to speak on this issue should be present at the hearing or submit comments
to the Office of the City Manager, 815 North Jackson Street, Athens, Tennessee 37303 or via email
at admin@athenstn.gov on or before the public hearing date.
A copy of the ordinance is available for inspection at the Athens City Hall during normal business
hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) or can be viewed online at: www.athenstn.gov.
