🌳Another great Arbor Day in Athens Tennessee!🌳
We’re proud to share that the City of Athens received Tree City USA status for the 45th consecutive year from the National Arbor Day Foundation, and Tennessee Wesleyan University earned Tree Campus USA status for the 13th consecutive year.
A special highlight of the day was recognizing our local students and educators:
- Athens City Schools primary students were awarded $25 cash prizes for their Arbor Day coloring pages.
- 4th grade students received $25 cash prizes for their essays about trees.
- All participating teachers were gifted Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards as a token of appreciation.
Thank you to our community, students, and educators for helping us celebrate and support the importance of trees in The Friendly City!
There's less than a month before the Splash Pad at Regional Park opens again!
The Athens Tennessee Parks & Recreation Department is gearing up for the launch on May 1st, and Ingleside Pool opens May 23rd!
