Tennessee Governor Bill Lee visited Athens TN and got a special tour of the Mayfield Dairy Farm Plant! The visit comes as a part of the Governor’s Year-Long America 250 Celebration Across Tennessee. Governor Lee toured the plant, saw how all of the forms of Mayfield’s milk and ice cream are made, and met some of the special people who make your ice cream!

After his tour, Governor Lee spoke in front of the Mayfield Visitor Center, thanking the farmers who produce the milk, thanking the community for coming out, on how fortunate the United States of America is, and on how he signed Tennessee’s “Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act” (SB 1914) into law in April  of last year, which allows schools to serve whole milk to students
